Delete your data
This page is for the See Like Animals website (seelikeanimals.com) and the Android app See Like Animals: Animal Eyes on Google Play. Developer and seller: ChromaRevive, Enterprise number: 1041.877.988, support@seelikeanimals.com.
How to ask us to delete your data
- Email us. Write to support@seelikeanimals.com with the subject Delete my data. Send it from the email address you paid with, or include your licence code or your Google Play order number (it starts with GPA.), so that we can find your records. Bought nothing? You can still write to us; see below for what we hold.
- We confirm and delete. We reply to confirm your request and delete your data within one month (GDPR art. 12(3)). We tell you what we deleted and what the law makes us keep, and until when.
- Delete what is on your device. In the Android app, go to your phone's Settings, then Apps, See Like Animals, Storage, and tap Clear storage, then uninstall the app. The app opens this website in Chrome, so also clear the site data for seelikeanimals.com in Chrome (Settings, Site settings, All sites). On the website, clear the site data for seelikeanimals.com in your browser. This removes your colour theme, the country you picked, today's game progress, and your licence code and payment email if you bought something.
Photos
Your photos never leave your device, so there is nothing to delete on our side. Videos you make are built on your device too.
What we delete
When you ask, we delete straight away, without waiting for the periods further down:
- the IP address and browser (user agent) of your checkout;
- the record of when your licence loaded the paid catalogue and how many files it loaded per day;
- the record of the purchase confirmation email (when it was sent and Brevo's message ID);
- restore records: scrambled copies of email addresses, transaction IDs and restore links;
- the scrambled copy of your licence code and any gift or teacher codes, with their labels, and, for an Android purchase, the encrypted copy of your licence code;
- a class you opened in class mode;
- anything else in your purchase record that the law does not require us to keep.
Deleting this switches off your licence code, any gift codes and anything they unlocked, because we can no longer check them.
What we keep, and for how long
Purchase records required by law. Belgian accounting and VAT law requires us to keep the record of each sale for seven years, counted from 1 January of the year after the year of purchase: a purchase made in 2026 is kept until 31 December 2033 and then deleted. For a website purchase that is the product, the price, the tax and the VAT rule, the country evidence, the PayPal order and transaction IDs, the amount paid, the PayPal fee and any refund. For a Google Play purchase it is Google's order number, the product, the region Google reports, a scrambled (hashed) copy of the purchase token, the dates, and whether it was refunded or cancelled. We use these records only to meet that legal duty and to answer refunds or payment disputes, and we delete them at the end of the period.
Records that delete themselves, whether or not you ask:
- class mode rooms (the animal list and a scrambled room code): 8 hours;
- restore-by-email links: 1 day;
- ad reward references (a one-time reference per ad, Google's transaction number and the time; not linked to your name or email): 7 days;
- our API logs in Cloudflare (which include your IP address): at most 7 days;
- scrambled copies from failed restore attempts and restore-email requests: 30 days;
- the encrypted Google Play purchase token: until Google has our confirmation, at most 3 days;
- the checkout IP address and browser: 180 days;
- per-day counts of paid catalogue use: 18 months;
- enquiries from zoos, museums and exhibit firms: in our mailbox while we deal with the enquiry and any agreement that follows.
If you never bought anything, we hold nothing on our server that names you: only the short-lived records above. Visit statistics are counted without cookies and are not linked to you.
Data Google holds
In the Android app, Google AdMob shows the optional ads and Google Play takes payments. For that data Google is an independent controller under its own privacy policy, so we cannot delete it for you; ask Google. See how Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services. You can reset or delete your advertising ID in your Android settings, and change or withdraw your ad consent in the app: open More, then About ads.
